C++ Courses in Marseille (CIRM)

During a week (from 22 July to 29 July) at the CIRM, a course on new tools and object design applied to scientific computing will be given.

The lecturers are:

  • O. Coulaud: A course on Para++, a library for parallel computation
  • O. Cuetto: Trio-U C++ software for incompressible Navier-Stokes equations
  • N. Di Césaré: Expression templates
  • M. Gazaix: ELSA software for compressible gas dynamics
  • O. Pironneau: Operator overloading
  • C. Prud'homme: Oriented object design and standard C++ library
  • R. Touzani: An object finite element library (OFELI)
  • The organisation will be as follows:

  • 3 hours of course each morning
  • 3 hours to apply the morning session in the afternoon
  • Here is the abstract in french and in english:

  • Résumé en français
  • English abstract

  • Some C++ Material

    Some libraries using the latest techniques in C++, called Expression Template :

  • The Numerical Library Blitz++ developped by Todd Veldhuizen
  • The Scientific Library project Sl++ developped by Laurent Deniau and Pierre Aubert.
  • These libraries are able to reach or go beyond Fortran performances with Kai C++ compiler.

    Here is a lecture given by Roldan Pozo

  • ANSI C
  • C++ as a better C
  • C++ Classes and Objects
  • Objects in Scientific Computing
  • Inheritance and Polymorphism
  • Templates, Exceptions and Observations
  • Just another course:

  • C and C++ in Five Days
  • The last but not the least: the course by O. Pironneau on C++ scientific computing

  • [Petsc]Petsc documentation at Argonne

  • Graphics design by Jesunix
