The Symposium will
bring together keynote speakers, researchers and the industrial
community, providing a bridge between state of the art multimedia
processing and best engineering practice.
CEMRACS 2002
MATHEMATICAL METHODS IN IMAGE PROCESSING
The 2002 CEMRACS (Summer Mathematical Research Center on Scientific
Computation and Its Applications) to be held this summer in Paris and
in Marseilles is dedicated to Mathematical Methods in Image Processing.
The Organizing Committee is chaired by Albert Cohen et Patrick L. Combettes
(Laboratoire Jacques-Louis Lions, Université Pierre et Marie Curie, Paris).
Setting:
This CEMRACS is the seventh in a series of annual meetings that were
initiated in 1996 by Yvon Maday andASCI. This edition aims at offering participants
from academia and industry an interdisciplinary platform for exchanging
knowledge in the field of mathematical image processing while working on
specific projects. It will be hosted by the CIRM (International Center
for Mathematical Research) in Marseilles in the southeast of France from
July 21 to August 31. Combining natural beauty and state-of-the-art
facilities, the CIRM provides an ideal research environment in an informal
setting (see http://www.cirm.univ-mrs.fr). The spirit of CEMRACS is to
provide a workshop atmosphere (daily seminars will give the opportunity to
projects team members to interact an exchange ideas) in a research center
environment, complete with a library and computing facilities.
A one-week summer school on mathematical image processing will be held in
Paris July 8-13, 2002. Its purpose to expose participants to mathematical
tools they may need to work on the projects. The summer school topics and
speakers are as follows:
