Book series « Lecture Notes on Applied Deterministic and Stochastic Mathematics »
This book series was launched in 2025 by the SMAI, the SFdS and the publishing house EDP Sciences. It publishes Master 2 research courses or texts written with a view to presenting recent developments in a field of applied mathematics and statistics, in English or French. The electronic version of the books (pdf that can be viewed and downloaded online) are published in open access without fees for the authors or the readers, under a CC-BY-NC licence allowing the authors to retain the copyrights. A printed version of the books can be purchased at a reasonable price.
The editors-in-chief of the book series are Karine Beauchard (ENS Rennes) and Agnès Lagnoux (Université Toulouse Jean Jaurès). The composition of the editorial board is described on this page.
How to propose a book:
- The books in the series present theoretical developments in mathematics that are strongly linked to applications. Illustration of results through the presentation of applications is not compulsory but is strongly encouraged. Exercises may be included in the text, but they are not the central focus (exercise books are not accepted in this series).
- Works must be between 100 and 500 pages long in monograph format (longer projects may be published in two volumes). Figures will be published in full colour in the pdf version, but only a limited number of figures will appear in full colour in the printed version; the others will be published in greyscale.
- Texts or drafts can be submitted directly to the editors of the collection. Texts submitted will be in pdf format.
- A Latex template will be available shortly. Accepted manuscripts must be submitted to the publisher in Latex.
This series has not yet published a book. Books published in this series will be available on the EDP Open Books platform.
