vendredi 14 novembre 2014
La journée est composée de deux mini-cours par Vincent Bansaye (10h -12h) et Marie Doumic-Jauffret (14h15 - 16h15).
Abstract
Growth and fragmentation processes appear in a wide range of applications in biology and physics. They have been modelled both by stochastic processes and integro-partial differential equations, leading to many mathematical results.
In these two lectures, we intend to give the audience an overview of the existing results, open problem, links and differences lying in these two approaches. As an example, we are focusing on a model with (possibly stochastic) exponential growth of cells and binary fissioning at division.
