Summer school

Thematic lectures will be given during the first week of the summer school (July 16 - July 21). The lectures will be organized according to the following 4 topics:
 
Collective motion (7h)
  • Pierre Degond (Imperial College, London): Collective dynamics : overview and challenges.
  • Bertrand Maury (Univ. Paris-Sud): Particle flows, crowd motion.
  • Pascal Silberzan (Institut Curie): Collective motion of eukaryotic cells.
Oncology (7h)
  • Florence Hubert (Univ. Aix-Marseille): In vitro and in vivo modeling cancer.
  • Luigi Preziosi (Politecnico Torino): Mechanistic multiscale modeling of tumor growth.
  • Olivier Séror (AP-HP): Ablation treatments for deep-seated tumors.
Ecology and evolutionary biology (5h)
  • Sylvie Méléard (Ecole Polytechnique): Stochastic dynamics for adaptation and evolution.
  • Hélène Morlon (ENS Paris): Macroevolution.
Mathematical tools for application in biology and medicine; specific applications to cardiology and neurosciences (9h)
  • Adeline Samson (Univ. Grenoble Alpes): Estimation in stochastic models; application to interacting spiking neurons.
  • Jean-Frédéric Gerbeau (INRIA Paris): Computational topics for biological flows.
  • Philippe Moireau (INRIA Saclay): Inverse problems and data assimilation.
  • Olivier Bernus (IHU Liryc Bordeaux): Challenges in clinical cardiology.

 
Moreover, a brief presentation of startup companies created by mathematicians will be proposed.
